Matthew Desmond, co-director of the Justice and Poverty Project at Harvard University, will be speaking on his book, Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. The book is a narrative account of eight families whose lives demonstrate how housing evictions perpetuate economic and racial inequality in our nation’s poorest neighbourhoods.

Desmond’s talk will highlight the complexity of poverty in American cities while sounding a compelling call for people of faith to engage the issue. The lecture is free and open to the public.
